[SMM Weekly Review of Lithium Battery Anode Market: Anode Material Prices Remained Stable This Week] SMM reported on July 17: This week, the prices of artificial graphite anode materials maintained a stable trend. Cost side, the cost of anode raw materials remained stable.

SMM reported on July 17:

This week, the price of artificial graphite anode material remained stable. On the cost side, the cost of anode raw materials remained stable, providing support for the price of artificial graphite. On the demand side, due to subsequent stockpiling by automakers, although there was a decline in the production of power battery cells recently, the rate of decline slowed down. Meanwhile, the small energy storage market saw a slight recovery in demand, and the demand side remained relatively stable. Against the backdrop of cost support and demand recovery, anode producers anticipated price increases. However, constrained by the ongoing oversupply situation, the price of artificial graphite anode material remained in a stalemate. Looking ahead, despite the overcapacity situation being difficult to reverse in the short term, the prices of relevant raw materials are expected to continue stabilizing and fluctuating. With this support, it is anticipated that the price of anode material will continue to remain stable in the short term.

This week, supported by the coordinated efforts of both supply and demand and cost factors, the price of natural graphite anode material remained relatively stable. The innovation process of artificial graphite anodes accelerated, coupled with the gradual expansion of production capacity by vapor deposition silicon-carbon producers. Driven by the dual demands of cost reduction and performance upgrades, downstream customers' procurement preferences gradually shifted towards alternative materials, squeezing the market demand space for natural graphite anodes. Overall, it is expected that the price of natural graphite anode material will continue to face downward pressure in the future.
